Kabalagala – known locally as pan – is a traditional Ugandan pancake, although, deep fried, they look more like a flat banana doughnut. Traditionally kabalagala is made with small sweet bananas and cassava flour with a pinch of fresh or pepper powder to spice up the taste, alternatively, plain flour can also be used with sugar for those with a sweet tooth.
